Initially my chosen career path was Archaeology, but whilst studying the history of ceramics, I became so enthralled in these incredible creations that were thousands of years old, that I decided to study ceramic design instead, and now my occupation is a ceramic artist. Some of my artworks show the influences of my archaeology years in these clay re-creations.
I enjoy working with colour and these days there are an abundance of incredible bright colours available which can withstand high temp firings. Combining colour with glass and wax creates wonderful textures and usually, (not always), its an ‘awesome’ feeling to open the kiln and be pleasantly surprised at the way things turned out!
